Frankie Armstrong has been a professional folk singer since the 1960s, active in the women’s and peace movements. In 1975, she pioneered community voice workshops, initially balancing this with social and youth work training before focusing entirely on singing and voice teaching. She has released 12 solo albums, appeared on numerous collaborative recordings, and authored several works, including her autobiography, As Far As the Eye Can Sing. As founder and President of the Natural Voice Network, Frankie has significantly shaped voice teaching. She is an honorary member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association and received the Gold Badge from the English Folk Dance and Song Society in 2018. She is also a Patron of Musicians for Peace and Disarmament.
