Wickwar Wessex Brewery is a traditional independent brewery nestled in the Cotswold’s in the tiny village called Wickwar. It now produces over 2 million pints of ale a year, alongside running an ever-expanding managed retail estate. The brewery supplies a selection of cask ales to approximately 400 free trade customers located the South West heartland. They also go further afield by supplying a number of retailers – Waitrose, Marks and Spencer’s, Morrisons and the Coop stores – with a selection of thier premium hand-crafted, bottled ales.

‘Falling Star’, their premium golden ale, is created using locally grown and floor malted barley from Warminster maltings. The Warminster Maltings is one of only two Maltings remaining in England who employ these traditional and historic floor malting techniques. They won the CAMRA best bitter award 2017 too, so they know they are onto a fine ale with this brand!

60% of the hops they use are locally grown in Herefordshire and their spent grains, which are a by-product of brewing, go to Eddie, their local farmer, who lives only 2 miles from the brewery. He gets 5 tonnes a week, free of charge …and every grain gets fed to his cattle!
