The Sidmouth Folk Festival has the bonus of having a wide range of smaller venues which offer the opportunity to see many festival guests on concerts stages in a more intimate setting. The Manor Pavilion offers a classic traditional theatre setting for special shows whilst the Woodlands Hotel provides a warm and welcoming setting for traditional music and song events.
The Manor Pavilion is a traditional theatre setting for special shows, as well as hosting morning song workshops. On the corner of Manor Road and Station Road, in the heart of Sidmouth, The Manor Pavilion has wheelchair access and its own bar. The Theatre seats 277 with raised seating.
Festival events take place in the conservatory of The Woodlands Hotel. Storytelling events are programmed in the mornings followed by showcases and special song and music events late morning, lunchtime and during the afternoon. All events are unamplified and take place in a comfortable setting with wheelchair access and a bar.
We are delighted to return to the Cellar Bar at Kennaway House for afternoon and evening concerts. There is level access to the Cellar Bar via entrance on left side of building.
The Bedford Hotel on the Esplanade is a long established festival venue with popular concerts in their function room and sessions in the bar. Access is via three steps. A wheelchair ramp is available.
The Kingswood Room in the Kingswood and Devoran Hotel on the Esplanade is used for daytime workshops and evening Folk Club style evenings. A comfortable lounge, The Kingswood Room is at the back of the hotel and is reached via the hotel’s terrace. Disabled access is available fromk the back of the hotel. Folk Arts Acoustic evenings are hosted by Bob and Gill Berry and welcome all those who enjoy folk club style events.
The Methodist Church (Sanctuary) is used for daytime song workshops and some evening concerts. Access is from the High Street. Disabled access is via a lift.
The Arts Centre is part of the Manor Pavilion theatre complex and is situated on the corner of Station Road and Manor Road. Access is from Station Road. The Arts Centre is used for Youth events led by Shooting Roots and Stream of Sound.
The lounge of the Royal Glen Hotel on Glen Road provides a comfortable venue for afternoon themed singarounds hosted by Colin and Sonja Andrews.
