Late Night Extra with The Bismarcks. Caller Gordon Potts. Performance by Northgate Rapper.

The Bismarcks (Gareth Kiddier, piano, Nina Hansell, fiddle, and Ed Rennie, melodeons) re-form for one special night only to celebrate the start of Sidmouth and a community funded LNE dance floor. Gordon Potts calls for ceilidhs, and sometimes writes dances. He also plays in Panjandrum.

Late Night Extra with Banter. Caller Fee Lock. Performance by Pecsaetan Morris.

Banter are Nina Zella, Simon Care, Tim Walker and Mark Jolley: four fine musicians whose roots are firmly in the traditional English genre, but who enjoy stretching the limits. Fee Lock is a popular caller, characterised by her clarity & “cut glass enunciation” which guarantees dancers an unequalled evening with any band.

Late Night Extra with Diatonics. Caller Ian Nicols. Performance by Chinewrde Morris Dancers.

Diatonics are a lively and energetic band playing music played by musicians with a history of playing for many years in great bands such as The Committee Band, Gas Mark 5 and many more. Ian Nichols is an experienced ceilidh caller; renowned for his red boots, excessive bounce and clear calling.

Late Night Extra with Whapweasel. Caller Erin Mansfield. Performance by Berkshire Bedlams.

Whapweasel: the renowned solid seven piece folk rock dance band have been delighting and exhausting the folk dance enthusiasts for over 20 years, with of enthralling, turbo- charged dance music attracting rave reviews and packed dance floors. Erin Mansfield is a talented and energetic young musician and ceilidh caller.

Tue 8th August – 11pm-1.15am

Late Night Extra with Relentless. Caller Ben Moss, with a performance by JD & Folk.

Relentless blur the line between traditional and contemporary dance music. Unceasing in enthusiasm, musical adrenaline and fun, they inject as much of their personal energy into their music. Featuring Will Pound, Nick Haynes, Rosie Butler-Hall, Dan Bones and Manny Grimsley. Ben Moss is a well-established musician and caller on the English ceilidh scene, playing regularly with The Diatonics, also with Grace Petrie.

Late Night Extra with The Canny Band. Caller Annie Bolt. Performance by Shropshire Bedlams and Martha Rhoden’s Tuppenny Dish. The Canny Band are Sam Mabbett, Michael Biggins (BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2021) and Callum Convoy, A rare fusion of piano, diatonic button accordion and bodhran. Annie Bolt, Shooting Roots stalwart and Morris dancer, takes to the Bulverton stage as MC & caller.

Thu 10th August – 11pm-1.15am

Late Night Extra with Tautas Roks. Caller Nancy Potts. Performance by Luascadh Irish Dancers.

Tautas Roks are an energetic band who are making waves on the Ceilidh scene, merging classic English folk tunes with a mixture of genres to give a lively, full sound. Expect high energy, fun and shenanigans. Nancy Potts: the daughter of ceilidh musicians and morris dancers, she specialises in playing for dancing and sings a variety of songs both for performance and social settings.

Late Night Extra with Out of Hand. Caller Nick Walden. Performance by Tower Ravens Rapper.

Out of Hand are a young, vibrant, energetic 5-piece Ceilidh Band fast becoming a staple of the UK festival and ceilidh series scene. Nick Walden is a popular Sidmouth regular, talking ceilidh dancers through their paces and much in demand by the big-name bands.
