Sidmouth Folk Festival Online

Look out for a special show each day on the Online Stage, all introduced by Rosie Hood. Shows premiere at 7.30pm and will be available until midnight on 15th August.

SATURDAY 31ST JULY
We open with a specially recorded performance by Orcadian fiddling phenomenon Fara and a set by exquisite Scottish harp/guitar duo Rachel Hair and Ron Jappy.

SUNDAY 1ST AUG
Sunday features an exclusive hour-long performance by the inimitable Martin Simpson, with his spellbinding acoustic and slide guitar playing and masterful storytelling.

MONDAY 2ND AUG
Monday is another exclusive set with festival favourite John Kirkpatrick, the king of squeeze, and a set from Sidmouth’s secret studio by Yorkshire singer, musician and dancer Alice Jones.

Tuesday offers a Scottish special with quartet Westward The Light and exquisite piper Brighde Chaimbeul.

WEDNESDAY 4TH AUG
On Wednesday, we have two specially recorded sets from Sidmouth with songwriter extraordinaire Jez Lowe and multi-talented fiddle master Ben Paley.

THURSDAY 5TH AUG
Thursday sees renowned broadcaster and creator of Folk on Foot, Matthew Bannister in Sidmouth interviewing Festival Patron Steve Knightley, the powerhouse singer and musician Eliza Carthy, and Jo Freya and Jim Causley of the wonderful four-part harmony infused Narthen.

FRIDAY 6TH AUG
Friday sees Around The Festival performances from iconic longsword dancers Stone Monkey, West Yorkshire songbird Jack Rutter, alt-folk Bird in the Belly, Essex trad singers Belinda Kempster & Fran Foote and more.

BONUS CONCERT

Tim Edey (BBC Radio Two’s Musician of the year 2012) multi-instrumentalist and singer, has toured the world and recorded with most of the major names in Celtic/Contemporary roots music including; The Chieftains, Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon and many more.
