Make sure you make the most of family festival fun at this year’s Sidmouth FolkWeek, offering exciting musical journeys for all ages of young people – from tinies to young adults.

At the popular Children’s Festival, based at welcoming and colourful Blackmore Gardens site, you can enjoy family-based fun throughout the week. A wonderful place to come along to relax and enjoy superb entertainment from the Garden Stage featuring stunning Young Performers. Plus dance displays, walkabout and pop up entertainment, a family ceilidh dancing, a Do It Yourself Puppet Booth, the Amazing Marble Maze, the knitting circle, face painting and a host of other family entertainment.

Blackmore Gardens is also the location for The Major, Midi and Minor Marquees in which your young people can get involved with a wealth of workshops.

For the under 4s: Action Songs, Sing Along Songs, Percussion and Rhythms, Yoga, Jungle Jiggle and Woodland Wiggle, Colour and Create, Creative Workshops for Children and Teddies Hospital.

For 5-7s: Junior Choir, Minims Beginners Band, Didgeridoo Workshop, Crazy Crafts, Happy Hattery, Pottery, Windsocks, Gargoyles and Mobiles, Dance Round the Maypole, Yoga and Ceilidh Dance.

For over 8s: Sidmouth Songswell Choir, Seaside Stompers Ceilidh Band, Rapper Dancing, Appalachian Clog, Border Morris Dancing, Craft Carousel, Pottery Workshops, Merlin’s Mob for drama activities.

Families can also join in the Children’s Festival Torchlight Processional Build and make something spectacular for the finale torchlight procession.

Funny Business with Circus Berzercus: a hilarious show of misunderstandings and fantastic new illusions.

Family Concert with David Gibb: music and songs for little people, big people and everyone else in between.

Family Show: A Necklace of Raindrops with One Moment In Time Theatre: spell-binding stories.

Family Puppet Show: The Da Silva Marionette Circus with Noisy Oyster Theatre: aerial acrobatics on the flying trapeze, spectacular cycling stunts, trampolining ups and downs and cheeky clowns!

Fabulous Family Medley: a tasty serving of stories, songs, music, dance with Gog Magog Molly, Pat Ryan, Pete Coe, Tolquhon and more.

Super Stomping Evening Ceilidh in Blackmore Gardens Marquee with the Sidmouth Seaside Stompers Ceilidh Band and calling by Martyn Harvey plus The Outside Capering Crew and Spangles the Clown.
