Sidmouth Folk Festival celebrates International Women’s Day today and shares its aims to ‘create gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’ and a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. Our line-up aims to be diverse, equitable and inclusive and one on which difference is valued and celebrated.

Amongst the many musical talents on this year’s line-up are both long-established headliners like Maddy Prior (with Steeleye Span), Kate Rusby, Eddi Reader and Grace Petrie and emerging talent like Janice Burns, Angeline Morrison and Suthering. Voices from Bulgaria, Turkey and Australia – Eugenia Georgieva, Olcay Bayir and Bush Gothic – join a line-up of singers from a range of British Isles’ traditions, both grass roots and cutting edge – Sandra Kerr, Frankie Armstrong, Belinda Kempster & Fran Foote, Emily Portman, Jackie Oates, Rosie Hood, Bryony Griffith & Alice Jones, Megan Wisdom, Holly Clarke, Annie Winter, Gemma Khawaja, Sophie Crawford, Miranda Sykes & Hannah Martin, Moirai, Hannah Sanders and Christina Alden.

Outstanding musicians play in a variety of line-ups including Jenn Butterworth, Mairearad Green & Anna Massie, Fara, Miranda Rutter, Rachel Hair, Harriet Riley, Mollie Koenigsberger, Nancy Kerr & Jess Arrowsmith (with Melrose Quartet). And there are storytellers (Katy Cawkwell), callers (Fee Lock, Jane Bird, Bridget Flett, Erin Mansfield), workshop leaders (Kerry Fletcher, Emily Askew, Ilse Pedler) and dancers (Boss Morris, Sheffield Steel Rapper) amongst many others.
