STUMPY OAK present a rhythmic, frenetic performance of tunes from across the British Isles.

THE VALIANT DANCE BAND continues the tradition of distinctive English ceilidh bands from the Eastern counties, the band features Katie Howson (melodeon), Liz Giddings (fiddle), Roger Digby (anglo concertina), Rob Neal (cello) and John Howson (banjo).

MRS. MIDNIGHT’S from Exeter bring us their tried and tested big, stompy, rhythmic acoustic tunes for dancing.

JIGFOOT play traditional dance tunes with energy, inventiveness and specialise in tunes from southern English sources.


Tuesday Night Special in Blackmore Gardens Marquee

The Next Step’ – A collaboration between the Valiant Dance Band and Instep, with five of the finest innovative step dancers in England: Jo Harmer, Simon Harmer, Toby Bennett, Kerry Fletcher and Jenny Read. The step dancers will dance with the band, creating dynamic percussion throughout the evening. This is a ceilidh with one of the most rhythmic traditional dance bands in the country playing an eclectic and unusual repertoire of dance tunes with dances called by our festival favourite – Barry Goodman. A one-off night not to be missed, for dancers and all lovers of traditional dance music!
