Sidmouth Folk Festival is delighted to partner with Showcase Scotland Expo to present a special celebration of Scotland’s contemporary traditional music.

Building on our Sounds of Modern Scotland strand, this year’s programme includes Scotland Introducing – a selection of outstanding emerging artists chosen through an open call delivered by Showcase Scotland Expo. Representing folk, roots, acoustic, world, Gaelic and Scots-language traditions, these performers showcase the extraordinary breadth and creativity of Scotland’s music today.

Alongside these exciting new voices are some of Scotland’s best-loved and most influential artists, from internationally acclaimed headliners to innovative trailblazers continuing to shape the folk scene.

From intimate showcase performances to major concert stages, Scotland Introducing at Sidmouth celebrates the richness and diversity of Scottish traditional music while creating opportunities for artists to connect with audiences, fellow performers and industry professionals throughout the festival.
