Kathryn Tickell & The Darkening explore the landscapes, stories and traditions of Northumbria through a thrilling blend of ancient and contemporary sounds. Featuring soaring pipes, powerful vocals and infectious rhythms, their live performances are both atmospheric and exhilarating.

Arthur Coates & Kerran Cotterell are a powerhouse folk duo blending Scottish fiddle, English guitar, driving foot percussion and soulful vocal harmonies – music that smoulders, sparks, and occasionally catches fire.

Bonfire Radicals are Birmingham’s fiery folk innovators, blending traditional and original tunes with influences from across the globe. Featuring recorders, fiddle, clarinet, electric guitar, bass and drums, their high-octane live shows are packed with creativity, virtuosity and infectious energy. Joining them are The Gambian Superstars, led by Suntou Susso. This all-Gambian ensemble of master musicians combines kora, balafon, percussion, drums, bass and keys in a vibrant Afro-Manding sound rooted in tradition and powered by joyous collective musicianship.

About the Bulverton

The Bulverton, and Betsy’s is the hub for high energy festival action through ‘til the early hours.

A standing marquee venue, next to the Festival Car Park and up from Campsite, features dynamic evening roots shows, energetic & welcoming LNE ceilidhs, early doors sessions at Betsy’s overlooking the Valley, craft & dance workshops during daylight hours, campfire sessions and a post-Late Night Extra (LNE) Betsy’s Lounge, a social space dedicated to relaxation and late-night playing and singing.

Doors and Sessions 7pm, Support acts 8pm. Headliners on stage approx. 9.05pm unless otherwise stated.

LNE starts 11.15pm. LNE dance displays at midnight. LNE ends 01.15am. After last orders, Betsy’s remains open as a space for sessions.
Tickets include Late Night Extra (LNE) events, Betsy’s and Campfire sessions.

Under 25’s Discount

There are a limited number of Bulverton Evening tickets are £10 for anyone 25 & Under (aged 12-25). Tickets for Under 11s are free, under 16s most be accompanied by an adult.

Sidmouth Residents Discount 

Discounts available to residents who to live within the Sidmouth EX10 postcode area for Pre-Festivals, Ham Daytime concerts, Ham Evening concerts, Bulverton evening and Bulverton Late Night Extra events. These are available online or in person, in advance from Sidmouth Tourist Information Centre (TIC) and the Box Office, with identifying documents. Advance online, not available on the door.

Provided free for those that qualify who require assistance to attend the Festival. For further information including how to apply, please read the relevant section in Terms & Conditions. Please address any accessibility enquiries to access@sidmouthfolkfestival.co.uk.

Refunds & exchanges

There are no refunds or exchanges on any tickets and lost tickets cannot be replaced. We advise you to take out appropriate cancellation of holiday insurance that covers the cost of your tickets should you unfortunately need to cancel your attendance at the Festival for any reason.
