The Outside Capering Crew
The Outside Capering Crew presents morris dance for the 21st century: sometimes flashy, sometimes comic, and always with exhilarating music.
In 2025 members of the Crew came 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the John Gasson Solo Jig Competition at Sidmouth Festival, as well as winning the Cliff Barstow Jig Competition at Whitby Folk Week.
They perform stylish morris jigs, comic hand-clapping, tricky broom dances and brain-bending “bacca pipes” jigs – England’s answer to the Scottish sword dance, but more edgy. All served with a dash of showmanship.

Tickets: Dance displays on the Esplanade, Market Square, Connaught Gardens & Blackmore Gardens, and the Processions are free entry. Meet the Team events are free entry. Workshops & Ceilidh spots are included in All-in-One & Season tickets, with event ticket available on the door subject to space.
