Ottery St Mary-based caterers Rusty Pig will be laying on a wonderful spread at the Ham this year. Rusty Pig started out as a butcher’s shop, in 2011, with a weekend supper club but as time went on, the quirky restaurant and catering business took over. Robin’s commitment to using only locally sourced ingredients, seasonal produce and meat from animals raised in high welfare conditions soon won him a loyal following from like-minded diners from Devon and farther afield.
For charcuterie fans, Rusty Pig’s award-winning charcuterie is made on the premises using locally sourced meat and traditional methods. Mouth-watering varieties include hay dried Lonza with chilli, Pennybun Salami featuring Cornish Gouda and vanilla-cured Coppa.
Catering for outdoor events has become a mainstay of the business, with the emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients – often with an unconventional twist, always with bags of flavour. A promise of deliciousness to come for anyone seeking sustenance at the Ham this year!
