Wakefield Morris perform both traditional and their own North-West Morris dances in a fast and lively style, wearing the blue and old gold colours from the Wakefield City Crest.

Saturday 3 Aug 11:00-12:15 pm Bulverton Marquee North West Morris workshop with Wakefield Morris Dancers – learn Celebration, a dance for one or more people written by John Earnshaw, often used as a massed North-West dance at festivals etc, and featured in instructional videos. All abilities welcome. (Season, All-in-One or Workshops Ticket holders)

Sunday 4 Aug 9:15-10:45 am Bulverton Marquee North West Morris workshop with Wakefield Morris Dancers – Ealuscerwen – this dance, featuring marching and polka steps, has proved a popular show dance for many top Northwest sides, and has an unusual “step up” with a line of four passing backwards through an advancing square in “battle formation”. Monday 5 August 1:00-2:00 pm Blackmore Gardens Marquee A Chance to Meet Liberty Hill Northwest Morris and Wakefield Morris Dancers. Wakefield (est 1980) and Liberty Hill (est 2021) are similar, and different. Come and find out how, see them dance, ask questions, and generally get to know them in an informal ‘meet the teams’ event. MC Graham Lee. (free entry)
